A common question we get from customers is which is better for me... Finish, Flail or Rotary Mower? Well we are going to try and help you understand the benefits of both style mowers to help decide which is best for what you are wanting to do with your grass.
Finish Mowers:
Finish Mowers are Fixed Blade Mower and offer multi-spindles. The Finish Mower cuts the grass versus beating action of the Rotary Mower. Requires less horsepower per foot of cutting width, so you can cut more grass with less PTO Horsepower. Available as single unit or for mowing large areas Turf-Flex Flex-Wing Mowers.

Most known for Lawn Mowers the Finish Mower can be used in "Pasture Grass" to cut the grass and often the users are clipping higher to keep weeds and brush from growing. Finish Mowers can be side discharge or rear discharge. Finish Mower follow the ground contours by 4 rolling gauge wheels on each corner to follow the ground contours. Finish Mowers Blades are not as heavy and strong as Rotary Cutter Blades and should not be used to cut trees or limbs.

For Large Volume Mowing the Flex-Finish Mower is a great choice to knock big areas down fast.
Flail Mowers:
Flail Mowers feature a Rotor with Swinging Blades and based on the how the machine is configured can have Fine Cut, Grass Mowing Knives that can cut material up to 1" in diameter or Rough Cut, Hammers for chewing up brush & heavy pasture grass and can cut up to 2" Diameter Material. Flail mowers rotation discharge the material in downward fashion protect throw object protection. Flail Mowers offer efficient power transfer and may allow increased mowing width versus other styles of mowers.
