I've got a mid 50's MF 50 with a Z134 Continental engine with 0 compression in one of my cylinders. Recently I've noticed that it has been misfiring and running rough. Did a compression test and cylinder #1 registered 95, cylinder #2 0, cylinder #3 95 and cylinder #4 80. Before I start tearing into this engine I has hoping for some help with determining what would could have cause this and what can I do to repair this tractor. I have noticed some antifreeze in the oil but not burning white smoke out of the exhaust. Any suggestions as to what can I check to determine what I can do to get this running properly again.
Thank you Craig (billybibbett@hotmail.com)

Sounds like you engine needs to be rebuilt. Many things could have caused it but without our mechanics inspecting it would just be making guesses. Best advice is visit your local dealer or mechanic to get the tractor engine disassembled to see what it happened and what needs to be replaced and repaired. Without that hard to figure costs but sure going to need engine overhaul kit. Also depends on how much money you want to invest in that tractor. Might be time to look at upgrading because you could easily put more money into that tractor than what it is worth.
